The Inspired Life...

The Inspired Life

Somehow - maybe via facebook - I stumbled upon this amazing blog (AMAZING BLOG) called Weaving the Wind by Michele Perry and have been loving following along with her posts!

It is all about inspiring creativity inside of you... and we are all creative! Not just us 'crafty' people - but everyone... and this blog series teaches you to grasp that fact and run toward it! I highly encourage you to check it out and follow along!

While I AM scrapbooky/crafty... I would never consider myself artsy - in that I don't paint.  I used to say I can't paint... but that was mostly because I don't paint!  In the past few months, however, the Lord has been stirring me up and pushing me out of my comfort zone!  I have started to dive into some Prophetic Art experiences and am loving the freedom!  It's hard not to compare myself with 'real' artists so I must say - this blog came along just in time for me! Otherwise... I may have stopped as soon as I started!

Here are a few glimpses into the prophetic art...

Here are a few things that have come from the blog prompts/activations:

My Sketch Pad - and the first Activation - to think of descriptive Color names and...

...to play around with a kids' watercolor set!
(It helps to take the fear out of it when it's just a Crayola kit for $5!)

This one stemmed from opening your eyes and paying attention to my spiritual geography...
this watercolor sketch is based on my surroundings - both in the natural - and the spiritual!

Wow... so once again - time is flying by! I can't believe I haven't been around here much since March?!  Well - this year has been amazing both in good and bad ways somehow... and time is just slipping through my fingers!  I have been LOVING this One Little Word album/project I am doing online... it's an Ali Edwards class and it's been so fun! My Word for this year is "Releasing"... here are some of the pages I have done for it!
(The back of my photo's)

One Little Action... this month we were to pick a small action to do that moved us closer to our word... my little action was Yoga - three times a week!

This month we were to write letters to our future self... very therapeutic!

We were to make a list of big and little things related to our Word that we wanted to accomplish!

One Little Word...

So our assignment for the "One Little Word" Project for February was to photograph your word - whether you took it literally or not... take 10 or more pictures that show your Word. Reminder - my word is "Releasing".

Hmmm... not an easy task! So - of course - I turn to Pinterest and to Google Images for help and inspiration! Once I got going I had a lot to choose from! However, none of the ones I loved were really making me think I could actually photograph it myself. I decided to not be obsessive - but to relax and think about it through out the month and see what would come to me!

Yeah - well - as my last post stated - February flew by and so my photo's were pretty much all taken the first weekend of March! Yet again... once I got started, it was hard to stop!

Here is what I came up with... (I will go Hybrid and turn these into old school layouts for my album - but this gives you an idea!

February flew by...

Wow... I decided I had better post something soon or I would miss all of March!? I know it is only the 8th - but my last post was before Valentine's Day!? Time is just flying by!

So - we did in fact have a great Valentine's Day...

Feelin' a Little Valentiney!!!

I blame Pinterest! Seriously... I do!

I have a 16 year old now... which means GONE are the days of making Valentine's and having Classroom parties! (Insert pouty sad face here!) Last year - my husband and I decided to buy single long stemmed roses for our dd and a group of her girlfriends - who were mostly all single at the time! If you have come to know me at all through this blog - you will know that we celebrate Valentine's Day as a family - making sure that our daughter knows that - yes, Valentine's Day is about Romance - but ultimately it is about Love! So - I like to kick it old school - and still make and hand out a few Valentine's Day cards or love notes... I like to make a fancy candle-lit dinner (for 4 - family style!) and make a yummy dessert!

So - here are a few of my Valentine's... I am trying (oh so hard!) to not buy anything NEW - but use up some supplies that I already have on hand - so here is what I have been playing with lately:

Browsing around Pinterest has made me REALLY want to host a party too though... and of course - at 16, my daughter is simply not interested?! sigh... It's probably for the best anyway - as I am OOBER busy right now... I still may throw together a little something just for fun with a few girlfriends... we'll see?!

So - what are YOU doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? Any special plans, crafts, or recipes? Do share!
