Well... here we are... Day 10...

One (lesser) blessing

I am counting today

is Pinterest!

Yes... Pinterest! LOL!

I have found such inspiration there

& have managed to find

some pretty amazing,

fun projects & Honey-Do's! 

The latest one is really what

brought about todays' Blessing

I found this amazing Honey-Do...

a 'mantle' Bed frame!

I loved it & I thought,

"Hey - My Honey can do that!"

Luckily - he agreed...

so he has been busy working on

this little project for me...

Because it is almost done

we started to unassemble

the LAST bed project I did

(thanks to Christopher Lowell & HGTV!

Yeah... that's right...

it was a LONG time ago...

so I was due!)

But our daughter

- who is a Senior in HS

& is facing a LOT of change this year,

got a bit teary eyed at the thought of

my Bed canopy coming down!

So - before we actually finished

taking it down,

she wanted to re-enact a photo... 

Precious = Then and Now!

...& her love for tradition & memories

& the-way-things-have-always-been

in the face of so many changes =

Priceless to this Momma's Heart!

Aaah Mondays!!!

I actually LOVE Mondays!

Back to routine...

a quiet empty house after a fun family-filled frenzy...

Mondays bring a quiet time

before a house once again filled

with love & friends

& His Presence made known! 

So in preparation of the arrival

of my Happy Intercessors...

I pick up the lingering chaos of the weekend,

& light a little ambiance,

scenting the room with Autumn yumminess,

& turning on the stereo,

filling the house with sounds of Praise!

Captured & Counted... Day 7

I had the honor and joy of going to a local Adventure Race to snap some photo's for some friends... it was the first annual Pirates Plunder Adventure Race - a 4+ mile race on different terrain and with over 15 obstacles... not to mention a LOT of mud!!!  It looked SO FUN!  In fact, I am thinking I will train a bit to be on the OTHER side of the camera next year! I haven't run for months... I kept getting (re)injured and thought I would give it up... however - this looked like So. Much. Fun!

Getting the opportunity to use my passion/hobby in a new atmosphere!

Today - after a crazy busy full couple of days...

I NEEDED to Capture & Count some things!

It's been a Great 'full/crazy/busy'...

- with things Captured & Counted all along the way -

but this, today, was much needed:

Aaaaahhhh.... a Saturday afternoon spent relaxing at NHV

- drinking in the views & soaking up some sun...

visiting & laughing with family

& just slowly allowing hours to pass right on by!

Oct 5th... Captured & Counted

Well... today is my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary!

Here is there Wedding Picture circa 1962...

Ahhh... well in the midst of the madness of gearing up

for a fun weekend - I snapped this quick photo...

I made a big batch because this is a Gathering weekend...

when family gathers together to celebrate

- which almost ALWAYS includes sitting around tables eating

& laughing & talking about memories behind & plans ahead!

Ahhh... this little stack of books along with my Bible

are beckoning me to come sit awhile this morning!

I have a VERY bossy list of many things to do today...

the temptation is to not make the time...

to press on to the urgent...

and yet I know... I have learned...

when I make the time, and rest with Him

before the start of my day

He makes the lists seem less Bossy

and the Pressing Urgency (my yoke)

is traded for Peaceful Unctions (His Yoke)!

A little Quiet time to Read, Soak, Write, & Hear!

Captured & Counted - Day 2 (31 Days)

Welcome to Day 2 of my 31 Days... Captured & Counted!

Today - I cheated and captured several photographs... I went on my Tuesday Route with my walking/prayer partner!  We have several routes that we like to talk and walk and pray along together... this one is our longest (nearly 7 miles) and it starts at her home and we climb a few steep hills - but when we finish that, we are rewarded with gorgeous vistas of our Valley!

So - not only did I get a great walk in, with some amazing conversation - I was present enough to take my 'daily' part of Tuesdays and - you guessed it - Capture and Count it! Day 2 - Check!

#31Days - The Wrap Up!

Captured & Counted - Day 1

I am SO excited to start this new series by Graham Cooke!

I am blessed to have a Monday group of women who gather in my home 

and dive into the Word, worship and pray together, encourage and lift up each other through the ups and downs of daily life!  We have been meeting now for nearly 12 years.  Sometimes we focus on a book in the Bible, sometimes on prayer and intercession, sometimes we just worship, sometimes we go out on Treasure Hunts, sometimes we are more like a book club and read a book together discussing it as we go.  This time however, starting today - we are trying something new!  I have been falling in love with Graham Cooke lately and ordered this audio series entitled "The Way of the Warrior".  There are three books that came from this teaching but we thought doing something different would be fun! So we are gathering here in just a little bit and we will chat over coffee for a little while and then we will invite Graham Cooke in via CD Player and let him teach us the way of the Warrior!

Blessed by this group of amazing women... and blessed by this new teaching series!

31 Days...

So tomorrow is the beginning of this "31 Days" challenge... but I like to think of it as more of an Invitation! 

My topic should be no real surprise! I have once again fallen in love with my camera and my goal for the month of October is to capture (via lens) an ordinary moment each day... and explain why it is Counted as a blessing to me!  Hmmm... combining my love of photographs AND words!  

Hopefully mostly short and sweet... a literal glimpse into a daily life and hopefully a little insight on living a life of Thankfulness all year (or at least for this - all month!) long!

I can't wait to see what I 'see' each day!

Hmmm... are you up for it?  Am I?

I have read and heard murmurings of a challenge to blog on one topic every day for the month of October and I think I may give it a shot!  I know I will be doing it on at least one of my blogs... possibly two?

So - I am picking my topic(s)... since my blogs have different feels - they will not be the same topic - but hopefully will tie in together.

On the Scrappy/Crafty side of things... I have ventured much more into life behind the camera and am loving playing with my artistic photographer bent... however I DID get hands on in making some cards and gifts last weekend... as well as discovering a new passion for Digital Art... I will share some of that as it ties in to my topic for October so check back and see what I've been creating next month!

Digital Layouts for 2012

Wow... life has just been unfolding every day and I keep meaning to stop by here and upload some Digi Layouts from this year! I am not 'all caught up' (as would be normal!) but I am getting there! I believe these bring us up to June!

I hope you are all doing well... I am (re)learning how to BE creative and SEE creatively - not just DO creative things... I am learning to embrace an artistic eye in approaching life (not just crafts!) - it is stirring things in me and shifting things and mostly it is restoring and increasing JOY! I will use more words next time!  I tend to have a lot of words - but this post will just be visual, if you will!
